Dronedesk allows you to create method statement templates, which can then be attached to jobs in the system.
We’re often asked, “What is a method statement?” In simple terms, a method statement is a detailed, step-by-step written document that explains how a specific task or work activity will be carried out safely and efficiently. It’s widely used in industries like construction, engineering, and drone operations, where safety and compliance are essential.
A typical method statement might include:
A description of the task — what’s being done and why
A step-by-step procedure — how the work will be carried out
Personnel — who is involved in performing the task
Tools and equipment — what will be used to complete the work
Health and safety and environmental considerations
Emergency procedures, if applicable
To create a method statement template in Dronedesk, go to Settings, then select Method Statements.
Here’s a very basic example of what one might include:
Purpose of the work
Date of the work — you can insert a placeholder for the job start date and time
Arrival on-site details — you might include a placeholder for the location reference
When this method statement template is later attached to a job, Dronedesk will automatically replace the placeholders with the relevant job-specific information, such as the planned start time, location, or equipment.
This gives you a quick and consistent way to produce professional and accurate documentation for every job.
