When you create a job in Dronedesk and assign a method statement to it, that job receives its own unique copy of the method statement at that point in time.
If you later make changes to the method statement template, those changes will only apply to new jobs created after the update, using that template. Existing jobs that already had the template assigned will not be automatically updated.
For example, if you go to Settings and then Method Statements, and update the Base method statement template, then save the changes, those edits won’t affect any job that already used the previous version.
To apply the updated version of the method statement to an existing job, follow these steps:
Edit the job
Temporarily change the method statement to a different template
Save the job
Reopen the job and re-select the Base method statement (which now contains your updates)
Save the job again
After doing this, if you return to the job, you’ll see that the method statement has been updated to reflect the new version of the template.
Keep in mind that forcing an override like this will permanently overwrite any custom changes that were made to the method statement in that specific job. Use this process carefully if pilots or admins have already edited the job’s version of the document.
