Dronedesk doesn't have a direct importer for method statements, but you can easily copy and paste content from your existing documents.
To do this, go to the top-right menu, select Settings, then click Method Statements. Start by creating a blank method statement. For example, select one of your existing templates, click Create a Copy, and name it something like "Import". The page will reload and display your new copy.
Delete all the existing content in the template and click Save to clear the editor.
Now open your original method statement document, for example in Google Drive. Use Ctrl+A (or Cmd+A) to select all the content, then Ctrl+C (or Cmd+C) to copy it. Return to Dronedesk and paste the content using Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V) into your blank method statement.
You may notice that the formatting resets to a default style, particularly in tables. You can adjust this as needed. For example, you can:
Add borders to tables
Set background colours for rows or headers
Extend columns or rows to improve layout
Note that images will not be imported when pasting content. You'll need to insert those manually. To do that:
Place your cursor where the image should go
Click Insert Image
Upload the image
Save the method statement
Next, if the original document included placeholders such as "Enter Date" or "Enter Location", you'll want to replace those with actual Dronedesk placeholders. For example:
Replace a text label like “Enter Date” with the Job Start Date placeholder
Replace “Location” with the Location Reference placeholder
Add other dynamic fields like Pilot Name or Pilot Phone Number
Once you're happy with the layout and content, click Save.
Now, when you go to Create a New Job, you'll see your imported method statement available to select from the dropdown list. It's ready to be used just like any other method statement in Dronedesk.
