If you update a risk assessment template in Dronedesk, those changes will only apply to new jobs created after the update. They will not affect any existing jobs in the system.
When you create a job and assign a risk assessment template to it, that job receives its own standalone copy of the template. This copy is isolated from the original, which means any later edits to the template will not be reflected in jobs that were already created.
For example, if you assign the Land Survey template to a job and then make changes to that job’s risk assessment (such as scoring a risk), those changes remain unique to that job. If you then go and edit the Land Survey template itself—say, by scoring the first risk—only new jobs using that template will receive the updated version.
If you want an existing job to use the updated template, you'll need to do the following:
Edit the job
Temporarily switch to a different risk assessment template
Save the job
Edit the job again, and switch back to the original template you want to apply
Save the job again
This will replace the existing risk assessment on the job with a fresh copy of the updated template.
Be aware that this process will overwrite any previous edits made to the risk assessment on that job, so use it with care if pilots or admins have already made changes.
