Dronedesk provides three formats of risk assessment as standard. Two are editable, and one is read-only.
To view them, go to the top-right menu, select Settings, then click Risk Assessments.
This is the simplest editable format. It allows you to:
Describe the hazard
Score the initial risk using the 5 by 5 risk matrix
Describe your mitigations
Score the residual (final) risk after applying mitigations
This format is ideal for most general drone operations.
This is the second editable format, designed for more detailed assessments. It includes additional fields, allowing you to:
Describe the identified hazard and any unmitigated failures
Detail the consequences
Score the initial risk
Describe your mitigations
Score the final risk
Indicate whether the risk is as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP)
Indicate whether the risk is tolerable
Assign an owner to the risk by selecting a team member from a dropdown list
This format is useful for more complex operations where detailed risk management is required.
This format is not editable and is based on official regulatory guidance. Currently, Dronedesk includes the UK CAA PDRA-01 predefined risk assessment.
It reflects exactly what is published by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in their CAP 722H document
Includes all predefined hazards, mitigations, and structure
Designed for compliance use where modifications are not permitted
When you assign this predefined assessment to a job, it is read-only, on the assumption that the job will be carried out in full compliance with the published risk model.
These three formats provide flexibility to suit a wide range of operational and regulatory requirements.
