The Dashboard is typically the first place you arrive at when you log in to Dronedesk. Across the top, you’ll see panels relating to various sections within the system. Clicking on a panel takes you to that section, while clicking the plus icon within a panel opens a new record form for that section.
For Locations, you have the option to enable location services in your browser. In Chrome, for example, you can enable this via the browser settings. Once enabled, a location icon will appear on the dashboard. Clicking it allows you to create a new location based on your current, browser-reported location.
The Job Status panel displays a count of your jobs in various statuses. Clicking on any status will take you to the Jobs table, filtered to show only records in that particular status (e.g. “Planned”).
The Flight Currency panel shows a chart of your flight activity; specifically, your flight minutes over the last three months. If you're the account admin, you’ll also see currency status for all your pilots (e.g. "current" or "lapsed"). Clicking on a pilot shows a list of their recent flights. An icon in the top-right corner of the panel links to the Flight Log Report page, where you can generate detailed reports.
The Drone Maintenance panel shows the maintenance status of all your drones. Clicking on this panel opens the Maintenance Dashboard, providing a detailed view of upcoming and overdue maintenance tasks.
On the right-hand side, you’ll see a Map Panel that displays any jobs scheduled for today. Clicking on a job icon on the map takes you directly to that job’s management page. Similarly, the Calendar Panel shows jobs for the current week and lets you scroll to past or future jobs. Clicking on a job entry from here will also take you directly to the job’s detail page.
The To Do List panel allows you to create and track personal tasks. Each task will appear with a user icon, and you can mark them as done by clicking to cross them out. You can also delete tasks you no longer need. Some tasks will have a red bell icon; these are system-generated reminders pointing you to items that require your attention. For example, a firmware release reminder for an A3S device will link you to the Maintenance Panel where you can update the relevant records. Clicking reminders for overdue jobs will take you to a filtered list of affected jobs.
You can choose to hide the Calendar and To Do List panels if you prefer not to see them. These preferences are saved automatically and will persist when you refresh the screen.
The final two panels are for Certifications. Team members will see their own certifications and can update them by clicking the icon to open their record. Admins can also view and edit business-level certifications via the Business Admin page.
At the top of the dashboard, there’s a bell icon showing alerts. In the UK, this will show Skywise alerts; in the US, it will display TFRs and other relevant notices. Clicking an alert marks it as read. You can also choose to mark all alerts as read at once.
That’s a quick overview of the Dashboard and its main features in Dronedesk.
